A vacancy has arisen to work within Children and Young People's Services as a receptionist in our Park Lane Clinic, Workington.
The post holders will provide a proactive, comprehensive administration and reception service which will include welcoming young people and families/carers to the clinic, handling telephone enquiries, actioning email requests, data entry, dealing with incoming /outgoing post and other general office duties.A high level of organisation and communication skills, both written and verbal, are required along with good IT skills. Experience in a similar role would be an advantage. This position offers excellent opportunities to develop your administrative skills within the NHS.
Main duties of the job- The post holder will be working alongside a team of Administrators, Administration Team Lead, Team Managers and Clinical Managers with allocated duties to support the administration function for this team. A good knowledge of Microsoft packages and typing qualifications are essential for this role.

- Accurate typing/keyboard skills
- A good understanding of the RIO system (not essential as training given to those who have not worked on this system before)
- A good knowledge of Microsoft word/office packages
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to be self-directed, motivated and be able to contribute positively within a team
- Well organised and structured
- The post holder will be expected to demonstrate flexibility in the role
The post holder will also undertake additional duties as directed by the Admin Team Lead.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication, customer service and organisational skills, as well as a working knowledge of office procedures including IT skills.

The post is full time, 37.5hrs per week Monday to Friday.

Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria- General Level of Education to O-Level/GCSE or equivalent
- Word-processing skills at level 2 (OCR/RSA Level 2 or the equivalent)
- NVQ Level 2 or QCF level 2 in Customer Service (or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 2 or QCF Level 2 in Business Administration (or equivalent)
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including use of email
- Ability to maintain and update Patient information systems (e.g. RiO)
- Knowledge of NHS policies and procedures
- Recent experience of working in an NHS or similar environment
