Job Description- To champion a culture of Process Safety Excellence.
- Facilitate process risk assessments and help develop safety operating practices to support plant operations.
- Provide technical leadership and support to identify hazards, assess risks and provide cost efficient management solutions.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards
- Develop safety training programs for staff
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety procedures
- Lead investigations into process safety incidents
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety legislation
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure safety protocols are followed
- Continual improvement of process safety management systems
The Successful Applicant
A successful Process Safety Engineer should have:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent in process safety
- Certification: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), Associate Safety Professional (ASP). Other relevant process safety certification
- Strong knowledge of process safety management systems
- Well-grounded understanding of Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR), Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) regulations and Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR).
- Background in Process Safety or alternatively experience working in Anaerobic Digestion (AD) / Water Treatment / Chemical or Energy plants would be beneficial
- Full UK car driving licence.
- Located in the North of Scotland and happy to travel between the three sites
- Must be flexible and happy to travel extensively.
- A competitive salary ranging from £54,000 to £66,000 per annum
- £6k car allowance
