Finance Director

VET.CT has an exciting opportunity to join us as Finance Director. We are looking for a driven, dynamic and experienced finance professional to join our finance and executive team. The successful candidate will contribute to business objectives, and shape the financial strategy of a growing and innovative company.
Requirements
Role Responsibilities- Direct the Finance team appropriately to ensure they feel motivated and developed in their roles. And are able to carry out their responsibilities to the required VET.CT standard
- Develop and control VET.CT’s annual operating budget and forecasts to ensure that financial targets are met
- Collaborate with the executive team to ensure the achievement of the company business objectives are met. By contributing with advice and guidance on the financial strategy
- Support company managers by providing financial advice and guidance to ensure their teams are able to meet their objectives successfully
- Oversee the preparation of VET.CT’s financial accounts to enable them to be presented accurately and in a timely manner
- Develop and implement an internal audit programme to ensure that VET.CT complies with national and international procedures and regulations
- Ensure effective and efficient financial management of VET.CT’s policies and procedures by maintaining and developing all relevant systems
- Oversee all external contracts and services which are provided by suppliers, to make sure they are operating effectively for VET.CT and providing the best value to the business
- Preparing reports in readiness to present to the board and investors.
- Collaboration with the VET.CT management team to reduce cost and maximise profit
- Review company payroll and all accounting systems
- Closely monitor the cash health of VET.CT by overseeing the company debt collection and credit card payments. Collaborating with the finance team to ensure this information is up to date and communicated clearly.
- Oversee and support with group audit
- Qualified accountant
- Experience of leading a finance team
- Experience of managing financial audits
- Previous international experience is essential for this role
- Ability for hybrid working with 2 days in the Cambridge office per week
- Familiarity with the accounting system Xero is desirable
