Senior Service Manager
In this rewarding role, you will work across projects in a defined area with high intensity use (HIUs) of services, focusing on strength-based interventions to improve access and navigation of the complex health and social care system. Working closely with the NHS, including the A&E department, to reduce frequent A&E visits by offering personalised support to individuals who frequently attend emergency departments.
- Job Type: Full-time (Monday - Friday)
- Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne (Remote and Community-Based)
- Salary: £36,000 - £36,500 per annum
- Contract: Fixed Term, 9 months (with the potential for extension)

As a Senior Service Manager, you will engage with the community, provide support to individuals facing challenges such as drug and alcohol addiction, crime, mental health issues, and trauma. Your role will also involve safeguarding and advocating for their well-being and provide the support they need to rebuild their lives.In this rewarding role, you will work across projects in a defined area with high intensity use (HIUs) of services, focusing on strength-based interventions to improve access and navigation of the complex health and social care system. Day to Day of the Role:
- Oversee safe and effective HIU interventions across services within your remit.
- Proactively manage a rolling caseload, using a de-medicalised, de-criminalised, and truly personalised approach.
- Assess suitability and allocate caseload to appropriate team members, conducting regular joint assessments.
- Coach teams in risk assessment, support plan development, and maintaining accurate case notes and records in line with best practices.
- Provide casework cover to HIU Leads during periods of absence/leave ensuring continuity of service.
- Work to remove barriers and stigma associated with high use of services and act as an advocate for the service and service users.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of the health and social care system.
- Must be on the DBS Update Service for Adults & Children.
- Advanced presentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to manage own diary.
- Experience in line management and casework in community-based services.
- Experience in managing safeguarding issues and embedding quality standards into service delivery.
- Must have full UK licence and access to a vehicle for visiting various locations.
