Main Duties

Teaching and Learning
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons based on the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner curriculum.
  • Support learners in understanding child development, safeguarding, and early years education.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods, including practical activities, discussions, and digital resources.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Encourage a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Assessment and Progress Tracking
  • Assess learners’ work according to NCFE CACHE guidelines.
  • Provide feedback on assignments and practical assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements.
Classroom and Behaviour Management
  • Establish clear expectations for behaviour and professionalism in early years settings.
  • Ensure an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Address any concerns about student engagement and progress.
Student Support and Development
  • Offer pastoral support to learners to help them succeed.
  • Guide students on professional conduct and career development in childcare.
  • Provide additional support for students needing extra help with coursework.
Administration and Compliance
  • Keep attendance records and track learner progress.
  • Follow safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and quality assurance activities.

About You

Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant qualification in early years education (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Childcare, Early Years Educator qualification, or higher).
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, AET) or willingness to work towards one.
  • Experience working in early years education or childcare settings.
  • Understanding of NCFE CACHE qualifications and assessment processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to promoting safeguarding and child welfare.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience teaching or training in a further education or vocational setting.
  • Knowledge of SEND and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Familiarity with digital learning platforms and technology in education.
  • Effective communication, organisation, and time-management skills.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Willing to undertake Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and Child Protection Training.
