OMass Therapeutics is a biotechnology company based in Oxford discovering medicines against highly- validated target ecosystems, such as membrane proteins or intracellular complexes. The company’s unique OdyssION™ technology platform comprises novel biochemistry techniques, next-generation native mass spectrometry, and custom chemistry.OMass is advancing a pipeline of small molecule therapeutics in rare diseases and immunological conditions, that target solute carriers, complex-bound proteins, and GPCRs.
We are seeking an IT Director for a 6 Month FTC project role, with potential to extend depending on project outcomes. You will be part of a dynamic and innovative environment and will become an integral part of our vision to address patients’ unmet needs while building Britain’s Biggest Biotech.
You will use your expertise to lead a review of our IT and data practices and propose a 3-year IT strategy and road map, as company and portfolio continues to mature and our lead asset enters first-in-human clinical trial in mid-2025. This role will report to the COO, and work in close partnership with Computational team.

Requirements
Essential Experience, Skills and Qualities- A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or an equivalent discipline
- Proven and relevant work experience in the biotech/pharma industry, with experience managing and implementing informatics and IT solutions in a start-up or biotech environment
- Experience with working with scientific teams to evaluate, implement, and manage scientific data management platforms, cloud computing (AWS), and IT vendor services. Familiarity of Linux, informatics tools required to manage and analyse large datasets is an advantage.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with R&D, clinical development, and other departments to identify and implement practical, scalable IT solutions
- Responsible and focused approach to independent and collaborative work, with the ability to prioritise and deliver high quality work to deadlines.
- Innovative and ambitious mindset, with an inquisitive and agile approach to problem-solving and overcoming technical challenges; motivated to continuously learn and take on challenges.
- Caring and inclusive; respectful and receptive to others’ diverse ideas, experience and perspectives, and enjoys working collaboratively with others as a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Data architecture – map current workflows and data architecture across discovery and development
- Evaluation of current IT infrastructure, cloud solutions and risk management
- Propose a 3-5 year IT and informatics strategy and implementation road map
o To enhance efficiency and interoperability across departments and enable automation and innovation (FAIR data principles)
o Future state IT infrastructure and governance – to enable the organisation’s objectives and growth trajectory
o Compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. GxP, GDPR) where applicable
o Road map to enhance compliance and security provisions to meet future certification requirements, e.g. ISO27001 and/or Sarbanes-Oxley- Provide IT input and project management support for prioritised projects in collaboration with computational team
- Support the management of existing MSPs
- Share information openly and work collaboratively with other departments to help advance different projects and achieve company goals.
