Start date – September 2025

Bilborough College is a highly successful provider of post-16 education to approximately 2050 students. We are committed to excellence, innovation and opportunities for students in all that we do. We are looking for an inspirational Course Leader to join our committed and passionate staff team, who consistently ensure that students achieve success, enjoy their courses and are supported to progress successfully onto the next stage of their lives.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to our students’ experience at Bilborough and to be part of a “nurturing and aspirational culture in which students from many different backgrounds flourish together’ and ‘benefit from a vibrant and purposeful environment’ as outlined in our most recent Ofsted report.

This role is an opportunity for an aspiring or existing course leader, whose primary purpose will be to work together with the Chemistry team to enable students to make consistently outstanding progress whilst ensuring wellbeing of both students and staff.

With assistance of the Head of Faculty, you will take operational responsibility for the A Level Chemistry course currently offered by the department, overseeing improvement plans and responding to in-year information about student attendance, retention and performance.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is able to motivate and inspire students, ensuring high levels of engagement and strong academic progress and attainment for all;
  • Is committed to developing the wider skills of young people, helping them prepare for the next stage of their education, training and employment as well as their current studies.
  • Is able to build relationships with young people of all abilities and backgrounds which are based on empathy, trust and mutual respect
  • Is positive, resilient and views failures as an opportunity to learn and improve.
  • Is adaptable, flexible and innovative in an ever-changing world and remains open-minded to new ideas and perspectives from others.

If you have these skills and attitudes, we would love to hear from you. You will require a full teaching qualification coupled with proven success of delivery on level 3 courses.

At Bilborough College we value our employees, and we recognise that they are vital to our continued success. We offer a forward-thinking, welcoming environment with supportive colleagues and access to continuous professional development.

We are a Sixth Form College with a diverse student community. We particularly welcome applications from ethnic minorities as they are currently under-represented within our teaching staff.

The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students in our care and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff appointments are subject to pre-employment screening including DBS clearance.

We are an equal opportunities employer.
