Duration: Permanent, Full Time

Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,285 per annum / £16.64 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

Job purpose/about the role

The purpose of the role is to work in conjunction with internal colleagues in Operations and Housing to provide a clearing and cleaning service to help turnaround Void properties and maintain Council properties. We are a response service for customers allowing buildings and sites to maintain health, safety and fire standards by removal of fly tipped items and blood and other bodily fluids.

A certain level of fitness is required to undertake this manual role.

Requirements
  • Full current UK driving license and the willingness to undertake driving vehicles supplied to transport yourself and co-workers to sites across the City.
  • PVG Membership (Protection of Vulnerable Groups via Disclosure Scotland) or must obtain as art of the recruitment process prior to a formal offer of employment being made
Responsibilities
  • An appropriate level of health and fitness to carry out manual frontline service delivery tasks
  • Cleaning processes and the use of cleaning equipment and materials
  • Manual handling processes
  • Working both as part of a Team and having the ability to use one’s own initiative
