Anew andexciting opportunity has arisenwithintheSpeech & Language Therapyserviceat UHD.The teamare looking foran enthusiastic,self-motivatedand experiencedSpeech and Language Therapistwith a passion for workingwithin an acute setting. Within this role, clinical work will be combined with an education and teachingcomponentas part ofour workforce development plans and growth of the Speech & Language Therapy service.
Base location:Bournemouth Hospital. Cross site working is an expected part of the role.

Workingwith the other clinical specialistsinacuteandstroke,the post holder will provide leadership and clinicalexpertiseto the Speech & Language Therapy team andwiderMDT.This role will involveassessing and managingpatients with complex dysphagia and/or communication impairments across the acute wards; including acute medicine, care of the elderly, respiratory, cardiac,stroke, neurotherapyand critical care.
The successful applicant will have experience of teaching and supervision and berequiredto focus on providing specialist education to other members of the Speech & Language Therapy teamregardingthe management of tracheostomy and the development of skills in FEES.This will involve supporting a robustcompetency-basedframework and the scoping/development of the use of FEES throughbusiness case submission.
