About Our Client
You will oversee day to day financial operations, ensure strong governance and compliance, and play a central role in supporting funding, grants and contractual requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified finance professional with charity or not for profit experience who enjoys working in a purpose-led environment.
Job Description- Maintain accurate financial records and accounts, monitoring performance against agreed budgets and highlighting variances
- Oversee banking arrangements, insurance, payroll processes and service agreements
- Manage VAT records and ensure timely submission of quarterly VAT returns
- Prepare clear, accurate and timely financial reports for senior management and the Trustee Board
- Provide financial information and analysis to support funding applications, contracts and service delivery
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts and financial statements, working with senior colleagues, the Treasurer and external auditors
- Take responsibility for financial returns to funders, regulatory bodies and partner organisations
- Identify opportunities to claim Gift Aid and prepare and submit Gift Aid returns to HMRC
- Lead on the financial elements of funding bids and grant applications
- Prepare and submit regular financial and progress reports for grant funded programmes
The Successful Applicant
A successful Head of Finance should have:
- Experience managing financial operations, preferably within not for profit or public sector
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional communication skills to engage with stakeholders effectively.
- A proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements.
