Our Local Government client is seeking an experienced Interim Close Down Accountant to assist with the closure of accounts for the 2024/25 financial year. This role is crucial for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in line with IFRS16 legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the account close down process
- Prepare and submit statutory returns
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Provide training and support to senior managers
Requirements:
- Previous experience of closure/preparation of accounts within local governments
- Understanding and experience with IFRS16 legislation
- CIPFA/CIMA qualification preferred
- Experience working alongside the audit process for account preparation
Additional Information:
- Contract duration: 6 months
