We are looking for a motivated Band 3 Physiotherapy Technical instructor to join our well-established Medical Physiotherapy team at St Richard's Hospital, Chichester.
The role will work as part of the Medical Physiotherapy Team providing a high quality and comprehensive therapy service to patients. This will include work with adults with varied conditions, including frailty, dementia, falls, amputee’s
Chichester is a beautiful historic city situated adjacent to the South Downs National Park, the sea and with excellent transport links to London and across Southern England. Main duties of the job- To work as part of a Physiotherapy Team providing a high quality and comprehensive therapy service to patients.
- To work independently and as part of a team
- To carry out appropriate assessments and treatments of patients within own scope of practice and under supervision of qualified staff with a variety of conditions and possible complex conditions
- To develop treatment plans and carry out treatment of patients with a variety of conditions and complex needs. To evaluate these treatment sessions and modify appropriately.
- To work with adults with varied conditions, including frailty, dementia, falls, amputee’s
- To regularly feedback to Physiotherapists regarding patients’ progress
- To be involved with data collection/audit to monitor service, general statistic collation and outcome measures the team are using.
- To assist with the clerical and professional administrative tasks required to provide an efficient and effective high quality service.

Essential and desirable
Essential criteria- Understanding of the Job role / Physiotherapy profession
- Experience of working in a team
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and fluency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to cope in an environment with emotional, distressed or aggressive patients.
- Ability to communicate effectively with different types of people e.g. patients, relatives, Doctors and MDT colleagues
- Ability to organise and prioritise own workload.
- Ability to recognise their own limitations and when to seek advice
- Basic IT and administrative skills
- Health care related qualification at NVQ level 3 within the last 5 years
- Previous clinical NHS/care/sports environment experience
- Basic understanding and experience of working with people with speciality conditions or disability
- Basic understanding of exercise rehabilitation
- Evidence of own development of knowledge and skills (e.g. portfolio/Continuing professional development
