PWAY Maintenance Technician

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced PWAY Maintenance Technician to join a major rail client based in Edinburgh on a permanent basis The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the permanent way infrastructure to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our rail services While prior light rail experience is preferred candidates with a background in Network Rail (NR) maintenance will also be considered Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance activities on the permanent way infrastructure including track switches crossings and associated components
- Perform repairs and adjustments to track components as necessary ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
- Identify and address defects faults and hazards promptly to minimize service disruptions and ensure passenger safety
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment to carry out maintenance tasks efficiently and effectively
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to coordinate maintenance activities and optimize workflow
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities including inspections repairs and materials used
- Adhere to relevant health and safety regulations and procedures at all times to promote a safe working environment
- Assist with emergency response and recovery efforts in the event of track incidents or operational disruptions
- Previous experience in PWAY maintenance within the rail industry preferably with exposure to light rail systems
- Knowledge of track maintenance techniques materials and equipment
- Familiarity with relevant safety standards and regulations including those set by Network Rail
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as required
- Valid driver s license and willingness to travel as needed
