Senior Quality Engineer

The Recruitment Co. is currently recruiting for a 'hands on' Senior Quality Engineer to join our clients team based in the Swansea area.

Contract: Permanent
Salary: up to £45,000 per annum.
Hours of work: Days / Full time

Location: Swansea

Our client is a rapidly growing Beauty tech company that has achieved remarkable success in recent years. To work closely with the Production, Engineering and Warehouse teams to maintain and improve our quality system for production, packaging, assembly and Warehouse activities.

Responsibilities:-
  • Leading QC improvement activity working with all dept heads
  • Supervision of the QC team to ensure optimal performance attained;
  • Effective closure of both internal and external (CAPA) production quality issues;
  • Developing and maintaining appropriate quality instructions, specifications and standards;
  • Leading supplier quality improvements;
  • Supporting quality training of production staff;
  • Acting as a quality mentor to the QC and Production teams;
  • Performing audits of the production quality system;
  • Effective control of non-conforming product;
  • Improvement of First Off Inspection process KPI;
  • Improvement of Shipping Release process KPI;
  • Risk reduction of the assembly, test, packing & shipping processes;
  • Maintaining all required records and performance indicators;

Experience:

Essential
  • Excellent leadership skills/experience
  • Experience leading a quality function
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, e.g. DMAIC, PDCA, 8D, etc
  • Good understanding of GMP
Desirable
  • Experience of electronic product or medical device operation;
  • Good working knowledge of ISO 13485/ ISO 9001
  • Knowledge of Control Plan, PFMEA, CAPA, Validation (IQ, OQ, PQ), PPAP, MRP, GD&T

Qualifications and training:

Essential
  • Related industry experience
Desirable
  • HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic and/or Mechanical Engineering

  • Able to critically evaluate and summarise complex data into simple messages and actions;
