About the Role:We are looking for motivated and detail-oriented Freelance Inventory Clerks to join our expanding network across London. As a representative of leading estate agents, you will conduct property inspections, assess conditions, and create comprehensive reports with visual and written documentation.
This role is dynamic, requiring travel, standing, and movement throughout the day. No two days are the same in the fast-paced London rental market!
Key Responsibilities:As an Inventory Clerk, your main responsibility is to provide detailed and accurate reports on the condition and contents of rental properties. Your role is essential in ensuring transparency between landlords, letting agents, and tenants. Key responsibilities include:
- Property Inspections & Reporting
Conduct inventory inspections at the start, during, and end of tenancies.
Create detailed reports documenting the condition, cleanliness, and contents of a property.Take clear, high-quality photographs as supporting evidence.
Accurately record any damages, missing items, or maintenance issues.
- Check-in & Check-out Inspections
Conduct check-out inspections, comparing the property's condition at the end of tenancy with the original inventory.
Identify and report any changes, damages, or discrepancies to landlords or agents.
- Mid-Term Inspections
Report any maintenance concerns or breaches of tenancy agreements.
- Communication & Client Interaction
Ensure professional and polite communication at all times.
- Report Submission & Compliance
Ensure reports meet industry standards and legal requirements.
Maintain confidentiality and impartiality in all assessments.
- Travel & Time Management
Travel between multiple properties across London daily.
Plan schedules efficiently to meet appointment times.This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong time management, and the ability to work independently. If you enjoy a dynamic, fast-paced environment and have a keen eye for detail, this could be the perfect role for you!
What We’re Looking For:✔ Experienced inventory clerks preferred, but training is available for enthusiastic candidates with a background in property management, retail, or similar.
✔ Presentable, professional appearance comparable to a lettings agent.
✔ Reliable home broadband & computer/laptop for report uploads (essential).
✔ Strong attention to detail while working efficiently.
✔ Punctuality & flexibility—Thursday to Monday and month-end/start are peak periods.
✔ Availability during the busy summer lettings season (July–September).
✔ Transport-savvy—public transport recommended, but some clerks prefer bikes or other modes.
✔ Professional Indemnity Insurance (required).
✔ Positive, can-do attitude—we want clerks who make a great impression as PPL representatives!
