Learning Support Assistant with Midday Duties
What skills and experience we're looking for
Ashdon Primary School, in north west Essex, is a happy and friendly small village primary school at the heart of the community. Currently we have 54 pupils in 3 classes and 15 members of staff. We are looking to appoint a highly effective, caring, enthusiastic and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our kind and supportive team.
This role will also include additional Midday Assistant duties.
You will;- be experienced in working with primary school children
- be confident to lead small group interventions
- have the ability to create positive learning environments
- have high expectations of pupil attainment and behaviour
- have evidence of ability to enthuse and motivate pupils
- have a strong and caring personality and is calm, patient and firm
- have good organisational and communication skills
- will be committed to providing a 'child-centred nurturing' ethos, collaborative team-work and flexible working

The working pattern and starting salary for this role will be:
LSA - 20 hours per week over 5 days, exact hours to be agreed. Scale 4 point 7 (£25,584 per annum, pro rata - £13.26 per hour)
MDA – 3 hours per week over 2 days with a willingness to be on standby in case of staff sickness, with 7.5 hours per week over 5 days for the first half of the Autumn term to support the new Reception children (1.5 hours per day) Scale 1 point 2 (£23,656 per annum, pro rata - £12.26 per hour)
