Your role:

Do you have an interest in using data and evidence to drive better outcomes? Join us as Data Scientist & MI Lead and play a pivotal role in the developing and leading a new data and management information function bringing together data/MI support into a single directorate wide team.

Acting as a champion for evidence-based decision making you will have the opportunity to be involved in everything from data collection, through to the way we visualise and gain insight from data designing, coding and presenting visually engaging analysis to inform critical decisions and support policy-making and commissioning within the Directorate.

About you:

We are looking someone with an understanding of the local economic growth issues and policy, public service reform and devolution who can develop and lead a team/function that can turn data and qualitative evidence into actionable intelligence to inform the achievement of outcomes.

You will have strong data presentation and insights skills accompanied by excellent analytical skills to turn data and qualitative evidence into actionable intelligence. You will be a great collaborator, working with colleagues across GMCA’s Research and Digital team ensure a joined up approach to data and evidence insights, as well as working with external partners to look to maximise intelligence available from data.
