The Integrated Sexual Health Service is looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support the Sexual Health Nursing team. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and demonstrate empathetic sensitive and compassionate approach to all children, young people families and carers.
The post is based in the Sexual Health service at the Royal Bolton Hospital. You may be required to work at any of the sexual health clinics we provide in Bolton or Salford to meet the service and your own training needs. Access to a car and driving licence is essential for this role.
We provide sexual health services (sexual , reproductive and HIV ) for people in Salford and Bolton in a number of community centres and clinics throughout these areas.
Upon appointment, a six week induction period will be offered with training and support from a dedicated nurse led training team to prepare staff for the role. New staff will also be supported to complete Bolton Foundation trust’s Care Certificate Course within the first six months of appointment and be provided with a member of the nursing team to mentor and support your ongoing practice.
Main duties of the job

This role will support the nursing team with the delivery of community based care to patients with complex sexual health needs across community setting. You will have confidence to communicate at all levels as you will be working with a wide variety of staff and patients attending the sexual health service.
Upon completion of the induction period and training the role will be varied and work closely alongside the nursing team. The role will support the ordering and management of medical supplies for patients, , cleaning and ensuring equipment is taken for maintenance, supporting maintaining the services equipment asset register, supporting the service to succeed in audits and undertaking some administrative tasks.You will be involved with the direct provision of patient care as delegated to you by the registered nurses in the service.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- GCSE grades A to C in English and Maths or equivalent
- NVQ Health and Social Care or Care Certificate
Experience
Essential criteria- Experience of working within Sexual Health
- Can work independently and as part of a team
Skills
Essential criteria- IT Skills including Microsoft systems
- Interpersonal skills including good communication both verbally and in writing
- Ability to organise own work and work under pressure.
