Teaching Personnel are working closely with an independent all-through secondary school in Fareham who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic PE Teacher to join them on a part-time basis to cover maternity leave. This is an exciting opportunity to teach a broad range of sports and inspire students from Nursery to Year 11 in developing their physical skills and a lifelong love for sport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons across a variety of sports, including Football, Basketball, Cross-Country, Cricket, Athletics, and Tennis.
- Teach students across all age groups, from Nursery to Year 11, adapting lessons to suit different abilities and skill levels.
- Foster a love of physical activity, promoting teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship among students.
- Prepare and accompany students to after-school fixtures and competitions.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to help them improve and develop.
- Ensure high standards of health, safety, and welfare during lessons and sporting activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support the wider PE curriculum and extracurricular activities.
Requirements:
- A degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
- A passion for sports and a commitment to inspiring students of all abilities.
- Experience teaching PE across a range of age groups and sports.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A willingness to contribute to the school's extracurricular sports programme, including after-school fixtures.
Desirable:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience working in an independent school setting.
- Coaching qualifications in one or more sports.
