We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic teacher with clear ideas on what the mathematics curriculum should contain and how it should be delivered, to assist the subject leader in the next stage of the department’s development.

In our enthusiastic Mathematics department, teachers and pupils alike share a passion for the subject, creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment. All pupils study Higher Tier GCSE Mathematics, with some also taking an additional Level 3 qualification in Algebra.

Mathematics is especially popular at A Level, reflecting its high status within the school community. Our team takes pride in its breadth of expertise, effective use of technology, and strong sense of collaboration.

This position is a permanent, full-time position and the successful applicant will be paid on the main professional scale M1-UPS3 +TLR 2a. In addition to teaching Mathematics the successful applicant will be required to be a form tutor. Applications are welcome from candidates at any stage in their career.

Colleagues teach in all Key Stages. There is a substantial amount of Advanced Level teaching, including Further Mathematics and ideally the successful applicant will have some experience of teaching A-Level Mathematics but more importantly an enthusiasm and wish to do so.

We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic teacher who is passionate about mathematics, enjoys working as a member of a team and is constantly seeking ways in which they can improve on their current practice.

There are six rooms dedicated to mathematics teaching. The department leads the school in the use on OneNote to support teaching and learning.

Years 7-9 are taught in their form groups with setting in Years 10 & 11. There are five teaching groups in each of Years 12 & 13.

Extracurricular activities are an important feature of the department’s work. There are Mathematics activity days, lectures from local academics, visits to local Universities providing enrichment opportunities. All students have the opportunity to participate in Junior, Intermediate and Senior Mathematics Challenges, with pleasing results.

We enter all of the UK Maths Team Challenges and other national competitions while there are targeted booster sessions for this at lunchtime. The school library, and online learning platform, contain a wide range of mathematical resources.
