SEN Support Assistant – Autism Support – Exeter

Salary: £84.50 - £90.00 per day
Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Full-Time (Temporary, with potential to become permanent)

Teaching Personnel is seeking a SEN Support Assistant to work with children with Autism in a well-regarded school in Exeter. This rewarding role involves providing one-to-one and small group support to help students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with Autism both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Assist in the implementation of individual learning plans (IEPs).
  • Encourage communication and social interaction.
  • Promote a positive and structured learning environment.
  • Help manage behaviour and provide tailored support for tasks.
  • Work closely with teachers and staff to ensure student success.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children, ideally with Autism or SEN.
  • Passionate about supporting children’s development.
  • Patient, empathetic, and able to manage challenging behaviour.
  • Strong communication and teamworking skills.
  • Willingness to apply for an enhanced DBS check.
