The volunteering team at Kingston and Richmond Foundation Trust (KRFT) are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Allied Health Professional (AHP) who is keen to utilise their project management and clinical skills as a Volunteer to Career Clinical Lead.
The aim of this programme is to positively impact NHS workforce and system pressure needs at a local level through the design of an AHP Volunteer to Career (VtC) initiative targeting overseas candidates to enable them to gain exposure to the NHS, experience and skills that will allow them to potentially secure paid employment within the Trust/NHS or across Southwest London.
  • Design and implement a project that addresses a real system pressure/need, meaningful and impactful local volunteer role that address the system need and supports volunteers to be supported into a career in healthcare as a solution to workforce pressures.
  • To identify, consult and collaborate with organisational stakeholders to ensure the project addresses system pressure and other strategic drivers e.g.senior leadership team including the organisation board, HR directors, Heads of clinical services, Chief AHP, AHP Workforce Lead etc.
  • To provide leadership to the cohort of volunteers associated with the
project and the related clinical staff.
  • Being “hands on” in the development of the role of volunteers in a range of settings.
  • Take responsibility for the effective organisation and delivery of volunteering support relating to your project, including motivating and supporting volunteers to access and sustain paid employment
  • To act as a resource to staff regarding aspects of the project, including building the profile of the Volunteer to Career project within clinical teams/departments, and promoting the success of the initiative in helping system pressures and volunteers to access healthcare careers.
  • To ensure presence in clinical/department areas and spend time working alongside the volunteers and staff as appropriate
