1:1 Primary Teaching Assistant
Position: 1:1 and Small Group Teaching Assistant
Star Date: ASAPPay rate: starting at £12.90 per hour
Location: Smethwick, Birmingham
SUMMARY:
Teaching Personnel are currently looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant (Level 2 or Level 3 qualified) to work at our partnered school in Smethwick, Birmingham. The school are looking to expand their SEND department. As a 1:1 and Small Group TA you will typically provide targeted support to students in a more personalised setting, either 1:1 or in small groups.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing personalised educational plans which suit specific children's needs.
- Working with the class teacher to adapt lessons to suit the students learning type and style.
- Offering behavioural support if necessary.
- Tracking the student's progress and providing feedback to the class teacher, parents/carers.
- Facilitating group discussions and/or activities.
- Assisting with tasks tailored to your group's abilities.
- Encouraging collaboration and peer learning.
GENERAL SKILLS AND QUALITIES NEEDED:
Patience and adaptability: Able to modify teaching strategies to suit individual needs.Strong communication skills: To explain concepts clearly and listen to students' concerns.
Knowledgeable: A good grasp of the subject matter to effectively support students.
Empathy: Understanding the diverse needs of students and providing emotional or academic support.
This role is essential in fostering a supportive learning environment and ensuring that students who need extra help are not left behind in their educational journey.
