Job overview
We are seeking a Dermatology Nurse to join our dedicated dermatology team. This full-time role is essential in providing high-quality care to patients with a range of skin conditions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and delivering specialised clinics, including phototherapy, patch testing, systemic drug monitoring, and responding to patient inquiries through the dermatology helpline.Additionally, the role involves important administrative duties to ensure the smooth operation of the department. This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse with dermatology experience who thrives in a dynamic clinical environment.
Main duties of the job- Phototherapy Clinic: Administer phototherapy treatments (narrowband UVB, PUVA) to patients with conditions such as psoriasis and eczema, while monitoring their response and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Patch Testing Clinic: Perform patch testing application and removal ensuring appropriate follow-up and patient education.
- Systemic Drug Monitoring Clinic: Monitor patients on systemic treatments (e.g. biologics, immunosuppressants), coordinating regular blood tests and tracking medication side effects.
- Dermatology Helpline: Provide support and advice to patients via phone, addressing medication concerns, treatment plans, and follow-up queries.
- Administrative Duties: Schedule patient appointments, maintain accurate records, and assist with departmental audits and reporting as needed.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- Registered General Nurse
- BSc (Hons) degree
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Registered with the NMC as a Specialist practitioner in Dermatology
Experience
Essential criteria- Some relevant clinical experience in the same or related specialty OR Some recent clinical experience in the acute or community setting
- Experience in managing patients with dermatological conditions
- Broad dermatology knowledge and experience of working in a similar setting
- Experience of delivering education programmes
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria- High level of interpersonal skills and management skills
- Demonstrates up to date knowledge and expertise in general nursing
- Leadership and decision-making skills
- Demonstrates skilled written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to empathise with specific patients with dermatological conditions
- Competent in basic and advanced computer skills
Special Requirements
Essential criteria- Working hours are office hours, require flexibility and willingness to travel to another site is required
