About the Governance Team:

The Governance team at Creative Education Trust is committed to ensuring that our academy councils operate efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with the trust's vision and values. Reporting to the Head of Governance, the Academy Council Clerk plays a crucial role in supporting academy councils by providing expert guidance on governance processes, maintaining accurate records, and facilitating productive meetings.

Working collaboratively with school leaders and council members, the Governance team ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and promotes effective decision-making that contributes to the success of our schools. Our aim is to uphold the highest standards of governance, fostering an environment where students and staff can thrive and excel.

About You:

As Academy Council Clerk at Creative Education Trust, you will bring outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to supporting effective governance across our schools. Our ideal candidate would:

  • Have significant experience in administrative roles, ideally within a governance or education setting, with a proven ability to manage complex documentation and records.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, capable of advising councils on governance processes and supporting effective decision-making at board and executive levels.
  • Be knowledgeable in regulatory compliance, governance frameworks, and best practices, ensuring academy councils meet statutory obligations and operate efficiently.

Requirements:

To apply for the Academy Clerk Council opportunity, you must have:

  • A good general standard of education with qualifications to A Level or equivalent, with GCSE in English and maths.
  • Demonstrable experience of working as a senior administrator.
  • Experience of secretariate duties including taking notes and drafting accurate and concise minutes.
  • Experience of sourcing legal advice on governance matters.
  • Strong administration and secretarial skills.
  • A demonstrable commitment to supporting and promoting safeguarding, student welfare, equality and diversity.
  • A thorough understanding of up-to-date safeguarding requirements and best practice.
