Full Job Description

We are seeking an inspirational and highly committed person to join our PE department to contribute significantly to our thriving netball programme. Netball is a popular sport, played with enthusiasm and success by pupils in every year group.

This opportunity would suit a netball specialist, ideally with personal experience of playing and coaching, alongside a passion for working with young people.

Working predominately at St Mary's Calne but also supporting the PE/Netball programme at St Margaret's Prep, the successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills, a sense of humour, and a willingness to fully integrate into the wider school community.

They will also be capable of coaching other school sports. Experience of, or a willingness to, contribute to the A Level Physical Education course would also be an advantage.

The position fits into a large team of sport specialists working under the direction of the Executive Director of Sport who oversees the strategic provision of Sport across the site which includes St Mary's Calne, St Margaret's Prep, and the St Mary's Sports Club.

What you can offer us
  • A degree in a sport related subject or equivalent training and experience.
  • Ability to coach netball and another of the main school sports from Year 7 to Year 13. Ability or willingness to teach A Level PE.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with very good written and spoken English.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills; competency in the use of ICT for administration and teaching purposes.
  • An understanding of the expectations, ethos and aims of a full boarding school. Committed to the safeguarding and well-being of children and young people.
