Child Support Worker
Earn up to £345 for a 24-Hour Long Day Sleep Shift/Block Bookings Available/Pay Rate: £15 - £18 per hour + Travel Expenses (45p per mile)
Shift Patterns/Hours (Immediate Start Available):- 8am-8pm (Long Day)
- 8pm-8am (Waking Night)
- 8am-11pm + Attached Sleep In
We offer block shift bookings for Long Day Sleep shifts.
As a Child Support Worker, you will provide care and support to children in the community, working in a minimum 2:1 setting with young individuals aged 8-18.
Responsibilities:- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the young service user.
- Maintain detailed records of the child's emotions, interactions with others, daily activities, and any communications, including food diaries and financial management (keeping receipts for transactions).
- Participate in activities with the young person and assist in managing their daily routines.
- Identify and report safeguarding concerns to promote the young person's development.
- Work closely with the local authority and Prospero, maintaining a professional relationship.
- You will be supporting young people with challenging behaviour, a variety of mental health issues, and disabilities, so prior experience would be beneficial.
Training Provided: We offer comprehensive online training, including TMVA training, to equip you with the skills to de-escalate challenging situations.
Core Duties Include:- Supporting vulnerable children with mental health challenges and complex needs.
- Providing physical and emotional care, including assistance with daily tasks and personal care.
- Helping to implement individual care programmes that foster learning, independence, and personal development.
- Building positive relationships with the young person, ensuring they receive high-quality support.
- Assisting with daily routines, from getting out of bed to participating in external activities.
- Maintaining professional relationships with family members, external healthcare professionals, and adhering to company policies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly in challenging situations.
- Emotional resilience and a compassionate, non-judgemental approach.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A DBS certificate (we can help you obtain this if needed).
- Drivers are preferred due to the varied locations of work.
- A Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or a related field is preferred but not essential.
