Commercial Finance Manager

£35,000 to £45,000 plus great benefits (Work Level 6A)

We're looking for a Commercial Finance Manager to join our Co-op Media Network team who are focused on revolutionising the way media is valued in the convenience market. We'll look to you to support the Co-op Media Network in all aspects of income, cost tracking and commercial opportunities to realise the annual income forecast.

You'll own our profit and loss (P&L) in year and support the 5 year financial plan. As Co-op Media Network continues to grow ahead of the market, this role provides an exciting opportunity to look for new ways for us to continuously improve and make a positive impact for our colleagues, customers, and member-owners.

What you'll do
  • Raise purchase orders in the spend management platform (COUPA) across sales & operations, propositions, and eCommerce teams
  • Input, create and manage all finance spreadsheets and systems across sales & operations, propositions, and eCommerce teams ensuring accurate reporting
  • Maintain a continuous view of the Co-op Media Network P&L, managing monthly financial budget and forecast, and highlight any risks making sure they are appropriately called out
  • Report monthly income and costs (P&L) and overall performance to the sales & operations lead, eCommerce lead, agencies, and finance teams
  • Utilise your knowledge and skills to make sure we are regularly challenging and improving the way we measure and monitor data
  • Build strong relationships with agencies to identify and encourage commercial opportunities and cost savings
  • Own supplier key performance indicators and flag persistent issues in a quick and consistent way and support in delivering the resolution alongside the wider team
  • Support new events, propositions, and channels with financial modelling
This role would suit people who have
  • Experience of managing a P&L
  • Budget management and forecasting experience
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to create pivot tables, formulas etc.
  • Commercial experience working within marketing, trading, or merchandising
  • The ability to communicate, engage and influence colleagues at all levels of the business
