Assistant Supervisor - START Team
About the Role and our Ideal Candidate
Are you a passionate and skilled professional in health or social care? Are you looking for an opportunity to make meaningful contributions to individuals transitioning from hospital to home? London Borough of Sutton is looking for an Assistant Supervisor to lead and support our dedicated team in providing exceptional care and rehabilitation.
As an Assistant Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
Managing a small team of Senior and Support workers, including supervision, appraisals, and managing sickness and other absence.Hold your own caseload and participate in a duty rota to triage all incoming referrals and provide support to your colleagues with day-to-day queries.
As an Assistant Supervisor within the START team, you will play a critical role in delivering hands-on care and support, while also supervising and mentoring a multidisciplinary team. Your leadership will inspire team members to provide compassionate, person-centered care, and your expertise will be essential in managing high-pressure situations effectively.
Your role will be vital in helping individuals access the support they need to enhance their quality of life and well-being.

The ideal candidate will have:
An NVQ 3 in Social Care or equivalentManagerial experience to supervise a team
Considerable experience of the hands on delivery of health or social care services, ideally within Adults Social Care services and as part of a multidisciplinary teamYou must be able to work in a fast paced service supporting people on discharge from hospital to maximise their independence
Confident nature to managing crisis situations effectively to prevent hospital admissions
Experienced in moving and handling risk assessment assistive equipment
