Community Podiatrist | Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust
We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional Podiatrist to join our supportive Community Podiatry team to work across West Dorset based in Dorchester.
We have a unique opportunity where we are offering a fantastic development post from a Band 5 Podiatrist to an established Band 6 Specialist Podiatrist. You will join a growing service providing quality foot care to patients with “feet in need” in a community setting, working alongside our hospital diabetic foot care services.
It is essential that you are HCPC registered (or due to be), can work flexibly and are a driver with access to a car for work purposes.
The Community Podiatrist role is a permanent, full-time post of 37.5 hours per week however we would welcome part-time applicants with a minimum of 30 hours. Our core hours are Monday to Friday 08.30 – 16.30; flexibility around this can be discussed at interview.
In return we offer a fantastic induction programme and pastoral support, and there are excellent learning and development opportunities, including an in-house programme of CPD, study days and clinical rotations, as well as regular clinical supervision, team meetings and 1:1s.

You will work alongside our hospital diabetic foot care services and community podiatry services
The post holder will be responsible for:
The assessment, diagnosing, planning and implementation of high-risk podiatric care, including ulcer management, for patients with a wide range of clinical needs.
Providing education and health promotion .
Providing a high-quality person-centred approach to care delivery which always considers people’s safety, privacy, and dignity.
Providing specialist advice to others regarding the management and care of patients/service users.
Providing supervision, mentorship, training and clinical support to students, apprentices and trained practitioners.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
