Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs? Hays Education are working exclusively with a number of special schools across Wolverhampton, Dudley, Walsall, and Sandwell who are currently looking for dedicated support staff to join their teams.

These schools are only working with Claire Cochrane at Hays Education to fill these roles, so the only way to be put forward for these opportunities is to register with Hays Education. We have a variety of opportunities available on both a daily and long-term basis.

About the Role: These positions are perfect for individuals who are looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs. You will be working within supportive, inclusive environments, offering help with learning, personal care, and social development.

While prior school experience is beneficial, it is not essential. Experience in roles such as care, youth work, or other child-focused positions is equally valuable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children with special educational needs in their learning and daily activities
  • Helping with personal care needs as required
  • Ensuring a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all students
  • Promoting independence and social skills through structured activities
  • Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to tailor learning to individual needs

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in a UK-based setting is essential (this could be in a care, youth work, or similar environment)
  • A compassionate and patient attitude with the ability to build strong relationships with students
  • Ability to adapt to different needs and work with a variety of personalities and abilities
  • A flexible approach, as both daily and long-term placements are available
  • Enhanced DBS check (can be processed through Hays if required)
