We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, reliable and conscientious team player to join our busy team. The Clinical Support Research Team deliver a mixture of commercial and non-commercial NIHR adopted studies at NUH and cover a broad range of specialities including Ophthalmology, Pathology, Pain Management, Mental Health and more.

As a Band 5 Research Officer/Nurse, you will be responsible for the coordination and delivery for your own portfolio of studies ranging in complexity. You will need to use your own initiative, respond to queries in a diplomatic and professional manner and demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills.

The Post Holder will be experienced in clinical trial delivery, and will perform work that will require a degree of responsibility and autonomy, including working unsupervised whilst seeing patients in the clinical areas. The post holder will be part of the Clinical Support team within the Research and Innovation department.

This role will have their own portfolio of studies to manage and oversee, ensuring the studies deliver to time and target and to work closely with the set-up team to ensure feasibility is performed appropriately.

Supporting all of our research is the NIHR Nottingham Clinical Research Facility which provides the infrastructure, skills and knowledge essential to the delivery of high quality experimental medicine research for adults and children. Our expertise and resources are at the forefront of COVID-19 research into effective treatments and vaccines, as well as contributing to the world’s understanding of Coronavirus.

Research and Communication
  1. Support and manage the collection of data relating to ongoing clinical studies within the Clinical Support portfolio
  2. Screen, identify, recruit and follow-up appropriate patients for clinical studies.
  3. Demonstrate excellence and professionalism in all modes of communication: in writing, in person, via telephone and using ‘new’ media.
