SLP Clinical Director – Adult Eating Disorders | South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust
Please note this position is advertised as an opportunity for either a Consultant Grade (4 PAs) or an Agenda for Change Grade (0.4 WTE Band 8c-9 indicative according to experience) to encompass the prospect of applications from differing professional backgrounds and has therefore been advertised in both Medical and AfC TRAC systems.
The post is for a 1-year secondment/fixed term contract.
We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and passionate person with experience of working in Adult Eating Disorder Services to work as the Clinical Director of the SLP Adult Eating Disorders Provider Collaborative.
There is a clinical leadership opportunity to support the development and delivery of the programme to improve patient experience and outcomes within AED services across the three South London Mental Health and Community Partnership trusts.
We are seeking senior clinicians from all professional backgrounds with significant experience of AED services who are passionate about improving patient care and reducing health inequalities. You will have experience of working collaboratively, establishing a new project or initiative and can provide credible leadership across the programme.You will be supported by the AED Senior Responsible Officer and Programme Director.
As a Clinical Director of the SLP Adult Eating Disorders; Clinical Programmes, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team leading the development of services as part of the South London Mental Health and Community Partnership (SLP).Working collaboratively with the Chief Strategy Officer, South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust (AED Provider Collaborative Senior Responsible Officer) and SLP Director, the post-holder will support the strategic and operational development and delivery of coherent and effective arrangements in South London to ensure the partnership achieves excellent outcomes.
They will provide senior clinical leadership to a specified SLP Clinical Programme, overseeing the clinical aspects of its development and operational activities, ensure there is alignment to the objectives of the partnership as well as being accountable for the design of the models of care associated with the programme.

Adult Eating Disorders Programme
SLP trusts and partners have developed a business case outlining the case for delegation of the specialist inpatient budget and community budgets to a Perinatal Provider Collaborative to improve the perinatal mental health pathway for south London patients.The business case outlines the challenges faced by services across south London and that, by bringing together the knowledge and experience of clinicians and experts by experience, we can collectively solve the challenges local populations face.
