We have an exciting new opportunity to work in the Respond service, an integrated health service for people of all ages seeking asylum and refugees in London. Respond is a nurse lead, holistic healthcare assessment service that has been and will continue to be delivered in a variety of locations/sites across London to best reach and meet the needs of this population.

Respond has developed a comprehensive integrated assessment addressing the physical, mental, dental, sexual, safeguarding, and social needs of people seeking asylum and refugees. This includes medical intervention where indicated, treatment, complex care planning, onward referrals, health education and promotion.

The RESPOND team is a small multi-disciplinary team that was set up in 2021. This project has progressed and changed rapidly with the changing needsof the serviceand is currently transitioning into a sustainable service.

The team strives to provide inclusion health for people seeking asylum and refugeesacross London. This roleprovidesan opportunity to further develop the service and enhance the service.

Part time applicants will be considered.

The infection and inclusion nurse role willcompriseof the following:

1. Delivering high quality, holistic, trauma informed, inclusive care to this patient population.
2. Identification and management of the specific health and wellbeing needs of this population.
3. Increasing access to mainstream health services through education, health promotion and empowerment of this population.
4. Exemplars of good practice and sharing learning within the trust and with the wider health and social care teams.
5. Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of this population as the service evolves.

Care planning and case management will form a large part of the role.

Experience of working with children and young people is desirable.

The infection & inclusion nurse is expected to work in UCLH and in the community, across London, as service requirements dictate. The Respond service is operational Monday to Friday during standard working hours (09.00-17.00) with flexibility as required.

The post holder will report directly to the Lead Nurse who in turn reports to the Divisional Matron and Divisional General Manager. Within the Respond team there is a dedicated administration team, clinical support worker(s), clinical lead, Respond specific GPs and clinical research fellows, as well as operational and divisional support.

We work closely with the infectious diseases team within UCLH (adult and paediatric), the infectious diseases outpatient department, GP practices within the community, initial accommodation managers and support workers, health and social care practitioners including early help teams, family support, school nursing and voluntary/ third sector organisations
