Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a new pilot service – “Aspire”, which is an Intensive Day and Virtual Service, within the CAMHS Eating Disorder Pathway, as part of a targeted team of mental health professionals in delivering an effective service.The service is part of a regional pilot, which has been funded by the East of England NHS Provider Collaborative. We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to join the team and provide intensive interventions for up to 4 x young people within this service, and there may be opportunity to support our core community eating disorder service too.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Psychologist will contribute to the service by supporting the clinical team including; conducting 1:1 and group therapeutic intervention, carrying out cognitive assessments, supporting clinical assessments and contributing to case discussion and formulation.
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and organised clinical psychologist with some relevant experience working with eating disorders, young people and families, as well as high level written and verbal communication skills.
The post holder will be required to attend the site, Whichello’s Wharf (Leighton Buzzard) two days a week, however there will also be some opportunity to work remotely.

Person specification
Education/ Qualification/ Training
Essential criteria- A qualification and professional registration in Clinical / Counselling Psychology or CBT profession
- Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology OR Counselling Psychology OR Health Psychology OR Education Psychology (or equivalent) as accredited by the HCPC.
Experience
Essential criteria- Work as a qualified psychologist for a minimum of two years including relevant experience working with children and adolescents.
- Experience of care planning
- Experience of providing a direct clinical service, including specialist assessment, psychological formulation of problems and intervention (minimum 500 hours supervised practice), offering interventions in an individual, family-based and group-based format.
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary way
- Eating disorders knowledge and experience
- Previous experience of working in CAMHS
- Experience of working with a wide range of CAMHS problems
Skills
Essential criteria- Previous experience of delivering CBT
- Specialist clinical skills within in specific therapeutic modalities
- Able to manage own time and caseload
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Evidence of ability to lead, support and influence others
- Previous experience of delivering CBT/CBT-e and FBT/FT in AN.
- Previous experience of facilitating group work would be desirable.
Knowledge
Essential criteria- Able to work effectively across organisational boundaries
- Teaching skills, both in clinical setting and education centres
- Basic computer skills
- A high degree of self-awareness and an ability to reflect on personal and professional attitudes and accept feedback
- Knowledge of standard setting and audit implementation
- A knowledge of Child Protection Guidelines
- Evidence of well developed clinical skills and knowledge in CAMHS
- Knowledge of development in inter agency partnership
- Awareness of current national guidelines and policies in the field of CAMHS
- Specific knowledge of pertinent issues for CAMHS
- In depth knowledge of CAMHS issues including assessment and interventions
- Knowledge of The Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007) and associated legislation
