We seek a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our friendly team on a full time basis however, a part-time role will be considered. This role is being offered as a progressive Band 5 to 6 role. You’ll be making a real difference to your patients every single day - deliver outstanding community care as a valued member of the Community Service.

Main duties of the job

Discharge Home To Assess service runs 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm at weekends. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the weekend working Rota.

The Trust is currently going through a transformation, therefore there may be some changes, this can be discussed in further either at interview or by contacting us beforehand.

The service covers both North and East Hertfordshire and the post holder may be expected at times to cover across localities.

You must hold a full valid driving licence and have access to a car to use regularly for business purposes are essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010). And business car insurance.

Qualifications and Education

Essential criteria
  • Do you have an Occupational Therapy degree?
  • Please detail the experience you have working within the NHS or healthcare setting?
  • Are you Registered with Health Professionals Council?
  • What post course qualification courses have you completed that are relevant to this role?
Desirable criteria
  • Have you completed Educators Training or have you supported a student?
  • What experience do you have of supervision to students and/ or colleagues?

Experience and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Please detail your experience of working in the community?
  • Please detail when you have been required to use your communication skills when working with complex patients?
  • How would you show ability to work under pressure and be flexible?

Skills and Abilities

  • What has been your experience communicating with multi-discipline team?
  • What examples do you have of being able to communicate where there may be barriers to understanding?
