DT and Art Technician
We are seeking to appoint a DT and Art Technician to help with the practical running of the DT and Art faculties. The faculties operate within very modern facilities that are well resourced and led by teachers who are passionate about their subjects.
The role will be predominantly DT based, providing some support to the Art department. There may also be some opportunities within Food Technology and STEM areas as directed by the line manager.
We require applicants who can demonstrate their ability to assist with the smooth running of the DT & Art faculties. Duties will be varied and include preparation, monitoring and maintenance of equipment and materials, assisting with demonstrations of equipment and processes including CAD/CAM machinery, ensuring health and safety is adhered to and staff are well supported in practicals and stock levels maintained at appropriate levels.
Applications are welcomed from experienced technicians and those new to the role who have a relevant engineering or design background. You will need good practical skills and experience in all or some of the following areas - timbers, metals, plastics and ceramics and have experience of working with a range of machinery such as circular saws, band saws and CAD/CAM equipment.You must also be comfortable working closely and communicating with secondary school students.
