Job Description
The RoleAs Strategic Procurement Manager, you will:
- Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team.
- Act as the strategic lead for all procurement and contract management activity.
- Provide expert procurement advice across the business and ensure compliance with the Procurement Act and other legislation.
- Drive value-for-money initiatives, including cashable savings and social value outcomes.
- Report to senior stakeholders including the Senior Leadership Team and Audit & Risk Committee.
- Develop and oversee a robust procurement workplan ensuring timely and effective tendering, contract oversight, and policy adherence.
The Successful Applicant
Candidate ProfileWe're seeking a motivated and forward-thinking procurement professional who:
- Holds a relevant professional qualification (e.g. MCIPS, CIPS, or equivalent) or has significant experience in procurement leadership.
- PA23 practitioner or knowledgeable in the new procurement regulations.
- Has strong commercial awareness, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills.
- Can demonstrate experience in embedding procurement best practices and contract management systems.
- Has a passion for delivering public value and driving operational efficiency.
