Hays Procurement are recruiting on an exclusive basis a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Buyer to join a specialist manufacturing business in Scunthorpe. This role is pivotal in driving the company's procurement strategy and ensuring the efficient acquisition of high-quality materials and services.The successful candidate will lead negotiations, manage supplier relationships, and oversee the procurement process to support our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet company goals.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
- Manage and evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality and reliability.
- Oversee the procurement process, from sourcing to delivery.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and fulfil their procurement needs.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on procurement activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Proven experience in a senior buyer or procurement role.
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Rate of £21.00 - £24.00 per hour, negotiable, depending on experience.
- Opportunity to work with a supportive and collaborative team.
- Potential for role extension based on performance.
- 3-6-month contract initially, could be extended.
- Flexible and Hybrid working.
