At Humdinger, we are looking for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our team at our Bromborough nut processing site. With an annual production of over 23,000 tonnes of snacking products, this role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of machinery in a fast paced environment.
Position Type: Full time, permanent
Shift Pattern: 24/7 shift pattern which consists of 4 x 12.25-hour days and nights (07:00 to 19:15 and 19:00 to 07:15) on a 4 on 4 off pattern.
Pay range:
Breaks: 3 breaks for each 12.25 hours shift of 20 minutes unpaid each break.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks, including breakdown repairs and planned preventative maintenance.
- Perform machine setups for production runs.
- Maintain site equipment, buildings, and facilities.
- Complete all relevant paperwork to close out PPMs, maintenance requests, and non-conformances.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings for troubleshooting and repair.
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping and health & safety compliance.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and management.
- Oversee contractor activities and manage permits.
- Support site projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Operate MEWPs and perform driving duties when required.
- Support and develop operational staff in autonomous maintenance practices.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Time-served engineer with a formal electrical qualification.
- Competency in both mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Basic PC skills and ability to complete documentation accurately.
- Full, valid driving licence.
Desirable:
- FLT and MEWP training.
- 18th Edition Electrical Regulations.
- Testing and inspection qualification.
- Knowledge of PLC fault-finding.
- Understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
