There is an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic Barts Health NHS Trust Children’s Therapy Service. We have a vacancy for aCommunity Children’sBand 6 Occupational Therapist to cover a fixed term maternity cover post for 12 months. Based at Mile End Hospital in East London, we are afriendly, innovative and well-established team of therapy staff.

Previous paediatric OT experience is not essential but we are looking for an Occupational Therapist who has a solid understanding of the OT process and who is motivated, enthusiastic and keen to learn.

This post would suit you if you are interested in working closely with children, parents, teaching staff and other multi-disciplinary team members to develop interventions and strategies that can minimize the impact of disability on a child’s school and home life.

Our service vision is to provide care for children and families that is personalized, occupation performance driven and outcomes focused. We base our intervention on current evidence and contemporary theory.

We offer excellent and regular supervision and training, opportunities to develop service improvement and leadership skills and promote good links with other agencies. The Trust supports agile and flexible working arrangements.

  • To provide client centered specialist Occupational Therapy advice and input to children and young people with developmental disabilities or other medical conditions affecting their occupational performance using the best available evidence base.
  • To provide advice and support for other professionals, educational staff, parents and carers involved in addressing the occupational performance issues of children with a range of needs in the community.
