An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced nurse to lead the inpatient ward and ambulatory/day case unit for the new Hampshire Elective Orthopaedic Hub, located on the Royal Hampshire County Hospital site in Winchester.The Hub is an exciting new venture supporting the delivery of elective orthopaedic care for patients across the region and is a partnership venture between Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Nurse with extensive experience and knowledge in Orthopaedic nursing and proven leadership skills.
You will be committed to upholding the values of the Trust and promoting the ethos of ambulatory arthroplasty pathways within the HOC.
The delivery of high quality, effective and compassionate care is essential to our organisation.
The HOC will have a strong focus on multidisciplinary team working, which helps to ensures a complete approach to patient centred care. Training and Qualifications
Essential criteria- Level 3 Certificate/Diploma in Management and Leadership, or equivalent e.g. NVQ Level 3
- Degree level education or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through any combination of alternative study, or employment experience
- Professional UK registration e.g. NMC, HCPC
- A Masters’ degree or evidence of working towards a Masters’ degree in the relevant field
- Project management learning and/or development
- Communication skills learning and/or development
Experience & Knowledge
Essential criteria- Evidence of significant post registration clinical work experience
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD) clearly recorded for professional profile
- Understanding of Health Environment policies and legislation including Clinical, Human Resources, Equality & Diversity, Governance
Skills & Ability
Essential criteria- Advanced communication skills including to communicate complex, sensitive or confidential information in an appropriate manner; to liaise and negotiate effectively; to understand and disseminate multifaceted information.
- Clinical Skills appropriate to the relevant speciality
- Highly specialised clinical skills relevant to the speciality e.g. trained in non-invasive ventilation.
