Full time 37.5 hours per week

Responsible for the assessment and delivery of care needs to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive services for patients with general skin conditions.

To support within and undertake nurse led phototherapy sessions when needed.

To assist in the management and organisation of work within the clinical area.

To provide expert nursing advice and support to patients, relatives / careers regarding their skin conditions in compliance with national standards.

To teach, support and develop colleagues within dermatology settings. To act always in a manner consistent with the NMC code of Professional conduct carrying out his/her duties in accordance with trust policies and procedures.

Please note: experience in Dermatology and Phototherapy is essential for this role as detailed in the person specification

Work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Assist with and provide nurse led clinics for general dermatology patients.

Promote Dermatology patient surveys utilising feedback to improve patient experience through customer care training and action plans.

Provide and maintain a telephone helpline.

Provide Psychological support for patients, relatives /carers.

Participate in health promotion.

Deal effectively and sensitively with patient issues collaborating with PALS/complaints service as appropriate.

Responsible for the day to day running of Dermatology Minor surgery.

Actively participates in the recruitment, selection and retention of staff.

Undertake Individual performance review for development of staff.

Ensure all patient records are accurate, clear, concise, legible and in accordance with the NMC Standards for Records and Record Keeping.

Ensure adherence to the Trust Medicines Policy and theNMC Standards for the Administration of Medicines.

Participate in audits of practice.

Develop and maintain effective communication links with all levels of staff within the trust, external agencies, patients and carers.

Maintain and promote patient confidentiality in line with trust policy and procedures.

Participate in ensuring the delivery of the Trust targets.

Maintain effective working levels and monitor the safe and economic use of supplies including forward planning.
