Health and Safety Coordinator
Lumentum England £30,000 - £35,000/year
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Coordinator can support our Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) team in a challenging industrial environment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our health and safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with UK health and safety legislation, and promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
This role will suit a recent graduate/early careers candidate with a real interest in EHS.
Tasks
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of environment, health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct regular site inspections and assist in risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend preventive measures.
- Provide support to Chemistry Lab and Occupational Health in the form of coordination, administrative support, equipment and record maintenance.
- Coordinate and conduct environment, health and safety training sessions for employees, including induction training for new hires.
- Support Emergency Response team training and activities.
- Support Occupational Health
- Maintain records and documentation.
- Assist in managing workplace safety committees and meetings.
- Support internal and external health and safety audits.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field.
- Has obtained or is actively working toward NEBOSH certifications.
- Experience in a health and safety role within a manufacturing or industrial setting would be desirable.
- An understanding of UK health and safety legislation.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Requirements
Qualifications/Experience- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field.
- Has obtained or is actively working toward NEBOSH certifications.
