How you will help us grow...

As an Event Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, organization, and execution of a number of yearly events ranging from large conferences and Awards ceremonies to smaller roundtable discussions, dinners and webinars. You will oversee all logistical aspects of the events you are working on, from venue selection and vendor coordination to budget management and vendor performance.

Reporting to the head of events, The Event Manager plays a key role in helping determine the strategy for our annual events calendar, feeding into new product development and budgeting, as well as ensure the flawless day-to-day execution of The Lawyer’s market-leading events.

Key Responsibilities:

Full end-to-end project management on a wide range of events: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders; ensure all deadlines are met and that events are delivered to the highest standard.
Drive and manage Awards processes: Work with the wider events team to help develop, grow and improve our Awards ceremonies; confirm judging panel; liaise with entrants; collate and communicate results; design and manage ceremony

Build and maintain strong working relationships with venues across London and the UK, and other key suppliers of digital and F2F event services: Negotiate and manage contracting of suppliers; maintain strong awareness of innovations in the events industry and research new event tools to deploy; identify cross-portfolio cost-efficiencies; Build and manage annual budgets: Maintain accurate cost and revenue tracking across the events you are working on; Work alongside commercial team to draft branding and networking opportunities for event partners: Responsibility for the delivery of all non-content aspects of sponsorship packages

Help identify where process improvements are needed across events: Communicate with internal stakeholders, draft solutions and present if needed; implement changes and continue to monitor impact

What we need from you...

At least 3 years’ experience managing corporate events in a busy dynamic environment
Experience running large scale Awards Ceremonies desirable
Experience with running both virtual and in-person events
Excellent project management skills, including balancing multiple projects simultaneously
A “team player” attitude, with an ability to bring out the best in everyone you work with
Pride in producing accurate work with consistently strong attention to detail
Ability to think strategically and analytically
