As part of the Morley Primary Partnership our children and staff enjoy enhanced opportunities for collaboration with peers and colleagues across the other 8 Morley Primary Partnership schools. The Governors, staff and children of the school are seeking a Pastoral & Welfare Manager to join our educational support team.
We are looking for someone who will take a lead role within the school to help pupils to overcome barriers to learning both inside and outside of the school, in order to enable them to reach their full potential, by: -taking a lead role in the Safeguarding provision across school – acting as Deputy DSL
being the Attendance Champion - driving the attendance agenda to ensure children arrive punctually, attendance at least meets national standards and persistent absence improves
taking a lead role in the management of Behaviour across school
being the Well-Being Champion – promote, identify and signpost children and their families to local and national health and wellbeing supportproviding effective co-ordination and management of school playtimes, lunchtimes and oversight of the school’s extended day provision (Breakfast & After-School clubs)
providing effective co-ordination and management of First Aid and other medical provision.
You will need to: Have experience of working within a pastoral role, or other relevant experience
Have line management experienceBe committed to inclusion
Have proven experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviours and be emotionally resilient
Be able to de-escalate possible conflict and challenging situations
Have a flexible approach to working - the oversight of the Breakfast & After-School clubs will, on occasion, require some flexibility in working hours
Work well as part of a team and have good interpersonal skills
Have a positive outlook
Hold Team Teach & First Aid qualifications, or be prepared to undertake these once in position
Establish constructive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
Genuinely care about children and improving their life chances through positive school experiences.
