Senior Buyer - Manufacturing

Expanding global manufacturing company looking for a Senior Buyer. As Senior Buyer, you will play a crucial role in managing direct spend across global manufacturing operations. You will have expertise in sourcing, negotiating, and supplier relationship management will help drive cost efficiency and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for direct spend categories.
• Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to achieve favourable terms and conditions.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
• Monitor supplier performance, conducting regular assessments and fostering strong relationships.
• Analyse spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement best practices.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in the supply chain landscape.

Qualifications:

• Degree educated and CIPS qualified desirable but not essential.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or sourcing, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of direct spend categories in sectors such as automotive, aerospace, defence, or engineering.
• Proven negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
