As the Ward Housekeeper your role means you are responsible for the general maintenance of the ward environment and will working closely with all members of our team. Excellent communication skills are essential.
As a caring and positive person you will need to be able to work as part of an established team, have the ability to work flexibly and be committed to ensuring the smooth running of the ward area.
We are looking for an individual who is self motivated, content with working in a busy environment and who has good time management skills. You must have excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.It is essential that you act professionally at all times, have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritise your own work load.
Main duties of the job
The role will include, but is not limited to;Working closely with procurement to order and maintain stock levels.
Managing the store rooms, staff and patient areas/facilities and ensuring a clean and tidy environment is maintained.
Ward logistics e.g., helping move beds and clearing/cleaning bed spaces.
Equipment/environment maintenance - liaising with estates/MESU ensuring all medical and non-medical devices and the ward environment are in a good state of repair and yearly PAT testing is undertaken.
Answering telephone calls and signposting if/when appropriate.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
The role requires close liaison with other disciplines and the provision of a courteous, reliable and quality consumer service to patients, relatives and carers, health professional, internal departments and outside organisations.

Essential criteria- Experience working with a hospital setting with other customer service experience
- Works/has previously worked for NUH
- Experience working in an acute healthcare setting
