Main duties of the job

As an integral part of the team, you will assist the senior schedulers with the smooth running of the service and contribute to a high standard of patient care by delivering a range of essential administrative duties. This is a challenging and interesting role in which you will have the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and skills in the field of scheduling patients for elective surgical procedures.

Skills & Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Good Written and Verbal Communication Skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member, the team priorities
  • Able to listen and follow instructions, asking for clarification if necessary
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and work efficiently

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • GCSE Grade C or Above in Maths and English, or equivalent
  • Experience in using Customer Databases
  • Experience of dealing with customers over the phone / face to face
  • Experience of using IT systems, for example Microsoft Office (Word, Excel,Outlook)
Desirable criteria
  • ICT / IT Qualification
  • Experience of using Patient Management System such as PAS/Ormis/Hive
  • Understanding/Experience of RTT
  • Experience of working in NHS Setting

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
  • Knowledge of GDPR, Risk Management, Health & Safety, Moving & Handling regulations
