Various Hours will be offered upon appointment to cover a 7-day service from 7.00am-19.30pm
The housekeeper will enhance the patient’s experience by ensuring that the clinical environment is presented and maintained in a way which maximises the patient’s sense of comfort, safety and well-being.
The successful candidates will have the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team, with the ability to communicate effectively to patients, staff and visitors.
Main duties of the job
To ensure the environment is cleaned in line with national cleaning standards.- Deliver meal/beverage service
- Cleaning Ward Kitchen/Meal area
- Following meal ordering procedures
- Report maintenance issues

Person specification
Qualifications / training
Essential criteria- Has Level 2 Food Hygiene Qualification or willingness to undertake with 12 week of being in post
- NVQ Level 2 British Institute of Cleaning Science in Domestic Services
- Good basic education Ability to read and write and numerical skills.
Experience
Desirable criteria- Relevant experience of working within a healthcare setting
Skills/knowledge
Essential criteria- Good knowledge of Health and Safety including COSSH, Safe Systems of Cleaning Tasks
- Excellent knowledge of Food Hygiene including temperature control and HACCP
- Full knowledge of cleaning schedules
Personal qualities
Essential criteria- Good communicator, to mix with a variety of people
- Flexible in working practices and hours
- Ability to be able to follow clear instructions.
- Ability to show empathy and understanding of patient’s needs.
- Good understanding of policies and procedures.
- To be proactive in ensuring effective relationships are maintained
- To work well and effectively in a team and alone
